DAP Learning Series

The YouTube Event Option

Learn how to track plays of embedded YouTube videos on your DAP-enabled pages

Wednesday, February 19, 2020 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET

Hosted by Digital.gov and the Digital Analytics Program (DAP)

DAP has long given web managers the option to track YouTube embeds on their pages, but it’s not always used. We’ll show you how to turn YouTube video tracking on (it’s very easy!). We’ll also show how the data can be used to analyze how long people watch the videos on your pages.

About the speakers

Tim Lowden manages the federal government’s aggregated web analytics initiative, the Digital Analytics Program (DAP), at the General Services Administration (GSA).

The Digital Analytics Program (DAP) helps agencies better understand the public’s interaction with the federal digital space, and records over 2.5 billion pageviews on more than 5,000 federal government websites each month. Much of these data are available to the public at analytics.usa.gov.
