It’s Code.gov’s 3rd birthday! As we celebrate our 3rd trip around the sun, we wanted to share where we’ve been, where we are going, and the implementation of the federal source code policy.

When we launched three years ago in November of 2016, our site had 45 code projects. Now we have 6,609 projects from 26 agencies. But people still want to know…What is Code.gov? Well, since three is a magic number*, we want to take you behind the curtain to learn what exactly Code.gov is, meet the team, and learn how you can become a part of our community.

* If unfamiliar with this pop culture reference, watch Schoolhouse Rock’s educational short, Three is a Magic Number (1973), on YouTube.
